[ Yamato and Kakashi ] [ untitled ]

[ untitled ]

Yamato wakes up gasping again, brow dripping with sweat as he struggles out of his blankets, which seemed to have cocooned him in his sleep, jolted awake by dreams of trees, large forests that threatened to consume him and dark hospital rooms with knives and needles laid on trays, dissecting his very flesh.

“Can’t sleep?” a voice asks from the vicinity of the window. Without thinking, Yamato hurls the glass he was using towards the direction of the intruder, as his hands move to form seals for his Wood Locking Wall jutsu.

[ Hinata and Hanabi ] the meeting makes the path

the meeting makes the path

“I wish to make Chiasa my heir,” Hanabi tells Hinata, referring to Hinata’s second child. They are seated in the pavilion of the Hyuuga household, Hinata’s two oldest children training in the courtyard under Kou’s watchful tutelage.

Hinata only raises her eyes and turns to look at Chiasa and Hiroyuki, the former with bright red hair like her grandmother before her. Her eldest however, took after his grandfather, spiky blond hair framing his chubby face. But both were also unmistakably Hyuuga, pale eyes opened wide with concentration as Kou took them through their steps.

[ Gaara and Naruto ] stand with you in a ring of fire

stand with you in a ring of fire

A hush swept across the fourth division when they saw the two approaching figures. It was easy to see Naruto, glowing bright in the moonlight, shrouded by the nine-tails’ chakra, and another figure, most familiar to those of Suna, lumbering on all fours behind him.

“Gaara-sama!” a Suna shinobi stumbled into Gaara’s tent, where he was resting, victorious but weary after the battle with Madara. Temari, who had been standing guard over her brother, frowned at the disturbance. “Why are you here?” she snapped furiously at the unidentified chuunin. “I thought I made it clear, Gaara is not to be disturbed.”

“I’m sorry, Temari-dono,” he begged her indulgence. “It’s just that, the sentries. They spotted Naruto-sama. He’s on the way…”

“Iruka,” Kakashi called out in greeting from where he was perched on top of a tree, reading Icha Icha Tactics.

“Kakashi,” Iruka responded, walking awkwardly towards the other man, right leg weighed down by a boy Kakashi estimated to be about four years old, clinging to the instructor like a limpet. The courtyard was filled with the sound of the boy’s childish giggles echoing alongside Iruka’s deeper voice.

[ Gaara and Baki ] [ untitled anime filler ]

“Gaara,” Baki spoke to the boy, having summoned him to his office for his orders. He had been saddled with the task of informing Gaara of his newest mission. The village elders were still uneasy at the idea of the jinchuuriki signing up for the regular forces, and he was one of the few shinobi in the village to have interacted with Gaara for any significant period.

“Yes.”

“Pops,” Gamakichi greeted his father as he hopped up to where his father was seated at the bar. “What’s up?”

“Hnn,” Gamabunta took a long sip of his sake, and lit up his pipe. “Naruto’s installation ceremony is tomorrow.”

“Yeah. We’re all going, right?”

“Congratulations, Naruto,” Kakashi peered over the crib holding the newest member of the Uzumaki clan, critically examining the baby. Naruto’s first child looked up at him unblinkingly with the pale white eyes she inherited from her mother and blond tufts of hair, clearly courtesy of her father and grandfather, sticking up from her head. He smiled and waggled his fingers at the baby, chuckling when she gurgled in happiness.
